NYG 2010

NYG UPDATE!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us raise our needed funds to get to the Gathering! We're almost there!!

The FLAMINGOS have arrived and are traveling across Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Placerville and beyond roosting on lawns and bringing laughter and smiles to all they meet! Have you seen them? If you have been visited by our pink feathered friends, please take some pictures of their time with you and email them to DYFM Annie Tiberg. The last Sunday to order a flock to be sent to a friend is May 30th! We have deliveries scheduled until June 15th.

It's that time again! Time for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod National Youth Gathering!

There are currently 16 high school students and 5 adults attending from LOTH. If you are interested in attending, there's still time! Contact DYFM Annie Tiberg to register! Here is some additional info regarding the NYG:

When: July 16-21st, 2010
Where: New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA)
Who: Anyone entering 9th grade in fall 2010 through graduated seniors 2009.
How much: Each family is asked to contribute $300 ($150 in July 2009 and $150 in March 2010) to the cost, and we'll fundraise for the rest. If funds raised do not meet our need, families will be asked to contribute more. Total cost is $1300 per participant.
How many adults are going? 5, 3 women and 2 men.
Are we traveling with anyone? Yes, the youth and adult from First Lutheran Church in Placerville will be traveling with us throughout the trip.
How do I sign up?? Call or email me!
How much money has been raised so far? We're over half way there! We've raised over $15,800!! We still need about $11,000 more to reach our needed total funds.
What's a Family Group? The 22 youth and 6 adults from both LOTH and FLC are divided into 5 small groups of mixed gender and have an adult leader. This is your family group. Throughout the week of the gathering, we will be meeting in our Family Groups to talk about what we've seen, heard and learned. Prior to leaving in July, we will have monthly (or close to it!) meetings at LOTH to have fun, grow together as a group and explore God's Word to prepare our hearts and minds of this awesome spiritual growth opportunity.

If you are already going to the NYG, here are the dates for our next Family Group Meetings:

Sunday, June 13th, 1-3pm (Our last one before we leave!) AT LEAST 1 PARENT NEEDS TO ATTEND WITH EVERY YOUTH! This will be a signing party as well! PLEASE BE THERE!!
